POSITION SUMMARY
DevOps Engineer role that analyzes, evaluates, designs, develops, implements, and executes a CI/CD strategy. Recommends and implements new standards and procedures for existing systems. Expertise on SolarWinds for configuration, maintenance, and optimization of our SolarWinds monitoring platform. Experience on Azure DevOps for continuous CI/CD pipeline implementation and maintenance. Expertise on Service Now for optimizing IT service management process. Responsible for ensuring minimal system downtime, a secure environment, and hitting speed to market goals. Provides support for custom interface development and administration of middleware technology. Rotational support for the production environment. Proactively identifies and corrects problems. Prepares documentation for new and modified systems, environments, hardware and software or databases. Expertise on EAI platforms like WebMethods. Expertise on IaC technology such as Ansible to automate, monitor and maintain Application maintenance activities.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Job Knowledge (Technical Focus)
- Works closely with webMethods development teams, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the seamless operation of the integration environment with internal and external partners
- Performs/guides regular maintenance tasks for SolarWinds, including software updates, patches, and configuration adjustments. Work with other IT teams to identify root causes of problems and implement effective solutions. Provide training and support to end-users and other IT staff on using SolarWinds tools.
- Highly skilled in Ansible for designing, implementing, and maintaining infrastructure automation solutions. Maintain and update existing Ansible playbooks to adapt to changing environments and requirements.
- Run and lead DevOps steering meeting with Application, DBA, server teams for automating repeatable activities to increate efficiency
- Prevents downtime, increases system availability, creates capacity plans, monitors performance, provides performance tuning, manages data and/or ensures data integrity
- Gathers, evaluates, and measures data on performance/capacity and reports on key measurements
- Participates in product evaluation, product installation, and product upgrade efforts
- Participate in hardware recommendations and sizing
- Recommends, customizes and implements/installs hardware and software products, as well as new standards and procedures
- Coordinates maintenance effort of supported systems, environmental infrastructure, and/or databases
- Designs technical systems and/or data structures, ensuring the overall technical design integrates with business design
- Provides and ensures a secure environment with appropriate backup and recovery procedures, and assists other areas in security support
- Develops procedures that promotes efficient and effective use of system environment and resources
- Addresses technical issues escalated within the team
- Analyzes impact of proposed solutions on applications and systems performance
- Reviews system, technical and internal customer documentation for accurate content
- Reviews system and internal customer test plans from a technical perspective and coordinates technical testing across all teams and the field
- Develops and implements disaster recovery plans
- Explains/trains as subject matter expert on technical concepts of product environments, operating systems, and related utilities
- Ensures environments are available and secure for system testing, integration testing, pilot testing, internal customer testing, and production.
- Develops, tests, and monitors security and internal controls
- Assists in the creation and maintenance of technical documentation.
- Keeps abreast of current and emerging information technology and trends
Managing Resources
- Assists in the following project efforts: creating project plans with timelines, resolving problems on scheduling, controlling projects, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Assists in preparation of estimates and cost benefit analysis
Business Focus
- Understands business needs and provides innovative technical solutions to business opportunities
- Leads third level technical support efforts
- Assists in determining service level agreements and ensures they are met
- Works with business to resolve technical issues
Other
- Key contact for day-to-day vendor interface
- Assists in managing vendor relationships, partnerships, and expectations
- Analyzes patterns and trends and recommends/implements innovative solutions within IT and with vendors
- Trains and mentors new and/or less experienced team members in areas of expertise
- May provide input into performance reviews and training objectives
- May assist in leading design reviews, technical post-implementation project review meetings and team meetings
- Analyzes, documents and resolves problems to ensure accordance with department quality standards and procedures
- Performs additional responsibilities as assigned
Nature and Scope
- Works under minimal supervision, relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned goals
- Leads small to medium projects; participates in projects of all sizes
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
Years of Experience
A minimum of 5 years of IT experience with 5 years of enterprise application integration or B2B integration administration (i.e. webMethods, or other integration platform.), SolarWinds, Service Now, Linux and/or SQL experience for monitoring or troubleshooting
Required Skills
- Clear understanding on DevOps platform and process
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of Linux as it relates to integration software
- Basic SQL skills
- Extensive knowledge of webMethods (or possibly other integration platforms) especially from an operational and support aspect
- Extensive knowledge on SolarWinds
- Clear Understanding and experience on Service Now
- Extensive experience in technical support and testing
Preferred Skills
- Experience in leading projects
- Knowledge of company’s business and technical environments
- Experience in webMethods modules: IS, TN, MAT, MWS, Optimize for Infrastructure, Command Central, and Enterprise Gateway
- Knowledge of Oracle DB/EBS
- Experience in AWS and/or other cloud offerings
- Shell scripting preferably K shell

Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
